 Describe your style: Classy-ish, geek-chic.

 What motivates you to dress up everyday? It's a cascading feedback loop---people liked it when I dressed up so I started experimenting more until I dress like this everyday. People actually get mad when I don't dress up. It makes me more confident and helps me stand out---plus it's fun.





Any fashion faux pas? Senior year of high school, I wore exclusively pastel polo shirts.

 How do you feel about fashion trends? I believe in them so much as they are something to subvert. They exist but you can work around them.

 What inspires your style of dressing? I try to be as unbound by time period as possible. My bow tie/suit combo has been around since the 1800's. I purposefully fit different decades into my aesthetic.



Any fashion advice? Maybe a lot of people have the mindset that "You don't have to worry about dressing up because you're a guy", but you should try it. It does make you more confident and helps you think about how you present yourself.

Blogger's Picks: Minimal Gold Jewelry

The statement necklace trend has been going strong for a while now, but as I transition to a more neutral style, I've passed down all of my statement pieces and moved on to the next big trend: minimal gold jewelry. (Sorry friends, my little sister gets first dibs and she's taken everything...) What exactly do I consider "minimal gold jewelry"? Besides being, well, gold, the piece is tastefully structured in such a way that doesn't distract from the entire outfit, but rather enhances it. Jewelry is used to accent and compliment your outfit. While the idea behind the statement necklace was to add a pop of color or shiny-sparkly to your otherwise black and/or white or solid other color outfit, simple gold pieces streamline your outfit and highlights underrated beauty in your wrists and neckline. Most Loved Pieces This Fall

HI everyone! Now that we're starting our second round of midterms and well into the Fall Semester, Thu and I thought we would share some of our most loved trends this fall. Except Houston's weather is so warm it's still basically summer... Hope you enjoy! Julia I've gotten really into structured and oversized fits this season, so this is pretty much the epitome of that. I love to pair oversized pieces with even more oversized ones, just so I can get that lewk without trying much at all. These pieces are all pretty minimal, so if you see me around campus I'll probably be in at least one of these pieces here.
